The workshops were attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan Branch of the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus, Ganja State University, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and Azerbaijan University of Technology.
Detailed information about the project activity was presented during the workshops. In addition, one of the main deliverables of the activity is creation of the Online Forest Atlas which was presented to the participants. The usage guidelines, as well as possible benefits and possibilities of the tool, were discussed.
The project supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by UN Environment and executed by the Azerbaijan Branch of the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus and World Resources Institute. The main objective of the project is to empower decision-makers in government and key stakeholders with technology and information to help reduce deforestation, facilitate commitments to restoration and conserve forest biodiversity by developing innovative user-friendly tools that easily share information, provide on-the-fly analyse.
