The workshop attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan Branch of the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus, Forest Development Service under Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Azerbaijan State University of Economics and Western Caspian Universities.

In addition, high-level deliverables of the project (i) Online Forest Atlas and (ii) Restoration Opportunities Assessment Methodology presented to the participants. Guidelines on how to use the atlas, as well as possible benefits and opportunities of the tool discussed.
The project supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by UN Environment and executed by the Azerbaijan Branch of the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus and World Resources Institute. The main objective of the project is to empower decision-makers in government and key stakeholders with technology and information to help reduce deforestation, facilitate commitments to restoration and conserve forest biodiversity by developing innovative user-friendly tools that easily share information, provide on-the-fly analyse.
